Anna discovered the CoZee to be a safe and comfortable sleeping space for her baby. She liked that it didn't move like other models, which meant she didn't wake up at night while trying to soothe her child for feedings. She also liked that the side of the chair lowered so she didn't need to reach over her partner to lift the child to feed them at night.
The CoZee is available in charcoal and oak and is a beautiful addition to the bedroom. It's more an expensive piece of furniture than many of the other cribs that we've tried, which look quite utilitarian in comparison. It's also fairly light at just 11kg, and comes with a carry case so you can carry it with you on holiday or when you move house. You only need to purchase an extra waterproof sheet and safety strap to sleep with your partner. The instructions and images are easy to follow once you open the box.
The Maxi-Cosi lora
The Iora is a bassinet that can be placed at the bedside that helps parents feel closer to their child while they sleep. It can be adjusted both up and down and shifted through three different positions for sliding to be placed beside the bed of the parent or in the corner, to ensure that the infant is always at hand. The mesh siding allows air to circulate through, allowing you to see your baby easily. You can also keep any extra pajamas or items in the large basket beneath.
In contrast to other bedside cribs, the Iora folds flat and comes with a travel bag so that it can be taken anywhere. Our mom testers found it easy to move from room to room, and believed that it was a good size for a bedside cot, not too big or too small. The large storage basket is ideal for storing extra bedding or nappies.
This is a great option for parents who want to sleep in a co-sleeping bed but don't want to share their bed. Also, if one of the partners suffers from mobility issues such as arthritis or back pain. Our mums who tested it were thrilled to be able to easily access their child in the Iora and that it had an optional reflux incline that helped alleviate gas.
Our mums are also thrilled that it meets NICE guidelines that state to put the baby in the crib or Moses basket on its own (with no blankets, toys pillows, etc.). They also say that the mattress is firm and comfortable for the baby and easy to find sheets for. It's not as light as some of the smaller cribs on our list, so if you prefer something lighter and easier to move around, consider a different alternative.
